Georges Feydeau’s (1862-1921) popularity peaked in the early 20th century. Now the “King of Laughter” is back on both French and international stages. In present day productions of his pieces great directors, who broke away from the clichés of populist theatre reveal Feydeau as a caricaturist of modern bourgeois madness. A Flea in Her Ear is built on misunderstandings and mistakes resulting in a highly entertaining farce.
